The ongoing legal battle between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt over their French winery, Château Miraval, continues to make headlines. Jolie’s legal team recently filed a motion seeking documents and evidence to prove Pitt’s refusal to purchase her share of the winery without her agreeing to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
Jolie’s attorneys have also claimed that Pitt physically abused her and their children, which led to her decision to leave him. However, she never pressed charges against him. In response, Pitt’s attorneys filed a motion asking Jolie to disclose any other NDAs she entered into with third parties.
A close friend of Pitt has reportedly noted a pattern of misleading information from Jolie’s side whenever decisions do not go her way. Jolie’s lawyer has alleged that Pitt’s refusal to purchase her share of the winery after she rejected his NDA was an attempt to cover up his abuse.
A hearing on disclosure is scheduled for May 16, with no full trial expected to take place this year. Pitt and Jolie were married for two years before divorcing in 2016 and have been legally single since 2019. The current legal battle stems from Jolie’s attempt to sell her company and transfer her ownership interest in Miraval, which Pitt claims breached their contract.
Pitt is seeking damages and for the sale to be declared null and void, while Jolie’s company claims he is behind a vindictive campaign to “loot” the business. Recent court minutes show that Pitt’s claims against Jolie will proceed to trial, with the court upholding its earlier ruling.
