Nicole Richie has dyed her hair back closer to her natural dark color. “I was sick of being blonde!” Nicole told Us Magazine. Maybe she’s planning on having baby #3 and doesn’t want to have dark roots? Either wat I think she looks great with her new darker hue.

Nicole Richie is a fan of the new Brazilian Blowout treatment, a less radical version of the Brazilian hair straightening treatment. Nicole says, “Now I have the freedom to not have to blow-dry my hair every time I wash it, I can go swimming and not have to worry about the frizz.”

Unlike the Brazilian straightening treatment which is permanent, the Brazilian Blowout washes out over time – usually lasting 2-5 months. The treatment costs $350-$500. Your stylist can customize how straight your hair is by the amount of keratin they use. Richie’s stylist says, “The more solution used, the straighter the effect. If the hair has a wave, it will be straightened, but still have body.”

Nicole Richie wore a chic and elegant braided updo at the 18th Annual Environmental Media Awards. To copy Nicole’s look start with wet or damp hair to help hold the look. Smooth in a lightweight moisturizing product to tame flyaways.

Next, part hair in the middle. French-braid each side, tucking the ends neatly into eachother with bobby pins. Finish with hairspray to secure.

Nicole Richie revealed some of her beauty and fashion tips in September’s issue of Glamour magazine. Nicole says to get inspired, “I’m really inspired by the sixties and seventies.” Her fashion icons are Keith Richards, for his “rock-star style”, and Jackie O.

Nicole has developed a line of jewelry named after her baby daughter, House of Harlow 1960, and says Native American and tribal art served as a source of inspiration when designing the line. And Nicole’s theory when it comes to jewelry – pile it on! “My philosophy when it comes to jewelry? More is more.”

Another style tip from Nicole is to stock up on your favorites. “I think it’s rare when you can find a good pair [of jeans] that fit.” Another piece Nicole loads up on are sunglasses – “I buy loads of sunglasses – I have one pair from the gas station that cost $3!”

As for beauty tips Nicole says her essential items that’s always in her bag is Keihl’s Lip Balm. She also received a great tip from a hair stylist – “Curl my hair with a flat iron.”

Nicole’s jewelry line comes out this Fall.
