Diet Secrets from the Real Housewives of New Jersey

The ladies of the Real Housewives of New Jersey are slimming down, and they’ve dished their weight loss secrets to Ok! magazine. Being in an Italian family makes it difficult to stay skinny when there is so much delicious food around! Teresa Giudice, Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita (pictured above) have all found their own ways to maintain their figure and enjoy all that their culture’s food has to offer.

Teresa and Jacqueline both had pregnancy weight to lose after gaining a combined total of 85 lbs. Teresa wrote her own cookbook titled Skinny Italian, which she shares recipes for lighter Italian eating – mostly avoiding fried foods and creamy sauces with butter. Teresa says she bakes her meatballs instead of frying in oil.

Jacqueline said she tried a meal plan after giving birth, and lost 12 lbs, but she didn’t want to stick to a regimented diet. She instead tried an old fashion diet trick – drinking 1 tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar with a teaspoon of blue agave nectar syrup with lemon juice. This remedy cleanses your system and speeds up weight loss – plus it’s all natural.

Caroline slimmed down by eliminating soda and only having treats like cheese and pasta on occassion and when she does have it, she doesn’t have to finish it all. Caroline drinks water all the time and snacks on berries, fresh tomatoes (New Jersey has the best!) with basil on flat bread.

With 9 children between the 3 ladies, there isn’t much time for working out – but Jacqueline tries to squeeze in quick routines by doing lunges in the kitchen and walking with her baby around the neighborhood.
